Our story

We started our school semester not knowing what to expect. We were only four students aged 17- 18, who had one thing in common: we were all having the Entrepreneurship class. Some weeks later we got placed into groups, and we couldn't have been more lucky with our group. Then we had to come up with a project. Our Leader, Maja, got the idea to help the ocean and show awarness. This was the start of SeaSavers UB. We are now three girls and one boy working together several times a week to help save the ocean, before it's too late.
Making clothes containing plastic is already being done. Unfortunately, most of the plastic in the clothes we are wearing every day is being produced only for the production of the clothes. As most people now know, plastic is turning into a problem. Fortunately, we see that more people are getting knowledge about this, and many places have now banned a lot of single-use plastic. But we still need more awareness and actions! Especially about such an everyday thing as clothes. Therefore we have chosen to gather plastic from the ocean, which otherwise would have been floating in the sea, destroying the sea life. We have seen similar businesses, but not in Norway. So we are currently in the process to find ways to be able to make our clothes home in Norway. This is because locally and sustainable production is our number one priority!
